My Embossed Card for this weeks Sundays with Santa on Facebook

Good Afternoon All, well the sun is out but for how long Ive no idea, anyway this weeks challenge on Sundays with Santa was to make an embossed card, and Ive also combined mine with using mica flakes, more on this in a moment. Anyway I cut a piece of card for the first mount of white pearlescent card on my 6"x 6" white base card and ran it through my cuttlebug with a snowflake embossing folder, then used a wide Christmas ribbon around the middle I stuck it to the base card.
Now back to my Christmas tree, I first had to use a special glue that you get from Indigo Blu, you create your own stamping pad with it, you then use this on your stamp, Ive used this gorgeous Xmas Tree, then rub the mica flakes over the glue, now this is where it gets extremely messy and sticky. I used the special foam square on it afterwards to get rid of the excess and I also stamped the sentiment at the bottom.
The problem with this sticking mica flakes is the clearing up afterwards, it does make everything sticky and youve really got a job to clean the stamp, though you do get special stuff for this but you also have to wash it in soapy water. I will try again in the future but its certainly one job you need to give yourself some time to do. I actually got my stamp stuck to my card the first time I tried it. Anyway good luck, I cut out the tree and used some silicone glue to stick it to the base card.

Thanks for inspiring us with the pretty Christmas card. I love how you used the ribbon in the background. And the embossing added another great element!
