Monotone theme for Sundays with Santa Challenge

Good Morning Crafters, wow I have just been watching some of the London Marathon though I wasnt lucky enough to see my Son-in-law as he was taking part and he finished in a brilliant time of 3hrs 47mins and 32secs, Im so proud of him and no doubt hes feeling the effects of all that running but Im sure he enjoyed it to, my daughter was there as well and probably was wishing she had got a place as well as shes done it in the past and she did well as well.
Anyway todays card has been created for this weeks Mono theme over on Sundays with Santa on Facebook and I have used a snowflake embossing folder for the background and the actual card design has been created using the create-a-card from Crafters Companion this one is the Holy Family and after cutting it out I have used Febeo silver wax to make it pop from the black.

A Card for the Sugar Nellie "Anything Goes" Challenge

Its been quite awhile since I used one of the Gorgeous images and this was one I acquired during the last week and I stamped her onto white card then used my copics to colour her.
I then cut her out with my rotatrim and layered her up onto a piece of red card.
The base card is a 7"x 7" white card because the image is so large and it needed a large card to mount it on, the papers are from Cuddley Buddley and I have used three of them, the first a red background with white spots on the second is a sentiment one with Happy Burthday on which I have used a lace border punch on, and the third is a stripe one which was placed on another red mount and layered up as shown on my photo.
I then wrapped a piece of red spot ribbon around the card and attached it to the back of the first mount, I then placed my mounted image towards the left hand side and a sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side, and to finish of I have used 6 rhinestone gems in the top two corners.

A card for Sundays with Santa "Anything Goes"

Thank you for those lovely comments on my creations from my Craft Retreat, Im in the throws of trying the Bleeding Art Canvas but discovered I must wait for some stencils I have ordered, isnt it always the same you just get started on something only to discover you havent got all the things you need to see it through. Hopefully they will arrive sometime next week so I can carry on and finish it, I will let you see the results once its finished.
Anyway the card today was created for Facebooks Sundays with Santa weekly Challenge, and this week was all about "Anything Goes", and for this I have used a idea from Sue Wilson and adapted it to suit my Xmas theme. The red background has been embossed and then I have used a piece of gold card and one of her beautiful edge dies on each end of the card, I then cut it down to fit as you can see in the photo. I placed it on top of the embossed red card.
This was then placed on a piece of pierced white card and this on top of a black one. I then stamped the sentiment and cut it with one of my Nestabilitie label die and cut out the poinsetta several times and layered them up to create the three flowers that were placed in the top left hand corner and tucked the sentiment underneath one of the leaves which were punched out of green paper.

My Craft Retreat Weekend

You might be wondering why I havent written up any post for this No.2 blog for awhile, well the reason is firstly I spent 3 days away the weekend before last on a Craft Retreat with Oyster Stamps and I really did enjoy it, though I did come home with something I would rather have left behind.
Well as you can see from the photo above we had several classes over the time I was away, and our instructors were Martine Smith from Oyster Stamps, Emma and Jayne from Inkalicious and Eileen Goodwin, and wow did they do a good job with us, I was impressed to say the least and I even managed to do some things that I had never attempted before. Thank you Girls it was real fun, and the hotel was brilliant to, plenty to eat and lots of coffee, cakes and tea on tap all day.
The one thing I would have preferred not to have brought home with me was the Flu which unfortunately Tracey and Martine were so kindly happy to pass on to me and several other people as well.
Well I sincerely hope you like the results and forgive me for not posting at least you now know the reason why, I really didnt feel up to it at all.
