My last post for this year and a Happy Christmas to you All

I was so struck by the designs of these Clarity Stamp Groovi plates from Jayne Nestarenko and I decided I just had to give them a try, its been about 8 years since I did much parchment but this new way of doing it is certainly a lot easier than trying to draw out all the lines.
I have used all three of the plates and designed the whole layout. I then after I had done the white work I coloured it with my Karisma Polychromo pencils.
To finish of I layered it up on a dark blue background, its rather big 8"x 8" but Im pleased with the end result I hope you also like it to.

Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper December Challenge

Good Morning Crafters this is the last blog post that I shall be making for Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge so I want to thank Hazel for letting me be part of her Design Team for the last year and I want to wish the Team all the best for the future.
And here is the Card I created for this last Challenge for me

This stamp image is from Marianne Designs I stamped it onto white card and coloured it with my copic pens I then glittered it and cut it out with a Marianne die and inked through the diecut holes. I then placed it onto a piece of blue card to make if stand out more on the patterned background.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card and the first mount is a piece of blue card the backing paper is from Creative Expressions then in the corners I have used the Memory Box dies to create the diecut designs.
I then laid my mounted image in the center and stamped a sentiment onto another piece of white card and cut it out with a oval die and inked this around the edge to. I then placed it before the mounted image in the center.
Now that youve seen my Card I do hope you will pay a visit to the CraftyHazelnutsPatternedPaper Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspirations.

A Anniversary Card

This Anniversary card was one of two I created for my stash as I do have several Anniversaries next year so I like to get several created so that they can be used straight away when the dates come up. I have used several Sue Wilson dies from Creative Expressions, the Heart border, the middle die, tags and Cape Daisy, also I have used a Swirling Heart Embossing Folder and Pixie Powders on watercolour card and velum.
Not that I had much fun with the heart as it was quite difficult putting the edge around the hearts and a few naughty words were uttered, Also I had a problem with the pearl edge they were quite small strips and moved very easily when trying to lay them straight.
The flowers were created using the pixie powder coloured velum and this were created with the Sue Wilson cape daisy and layered up as shown in the photo.

I printed this image onto white card then I used my copic pens to colour it, afterwards I used a Nestabilitie to cut it out and for the mount I used a Snowflake die thats been altered to create a mount for it, before finishes off I have used some glitter along the white edges of her dress and sleeves.
The base card is 6.50"x 6.50" white card with a first mount out of red card the papers are also from ArtbyMiran and I have used three of the papers as shown in the photo a green one for the first mount and a red and white strip and red one with lollipops on I have cut into squares and then used a Martha Stewart border and corner punches on them and layed them in opposite corners.
I then placed my mounted image in the center with the sentiment which is also from the same paper set and mounted this onto red card and this was placed in the bottom left hand corner. To finish of I have used a snowflake punch and created 4 double layered snowflakes that have been dipped into glitter and stuck around the card edge.

Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper November Challenge

Good Morning Crafter's, do you know we are only about 7 weeks away from Christmas I hope you have got all your cards made as you will need to get them finished soon to have them in the post by the beginning of December, I just need to sign mine and put them into envelopes, goodness knows how much its going to cost to post as its so expensive these days.
But today's card for this month I do hope you like the result

This was for a very dear friend who unfortunately passed away at the beginning of the year due to lung cancer but she was delighted with it so I hope you like the result. The image is a buggaboo image and I printed it onto white card then used my copic pens to colour it, afterwards I cut it out with my Nestabilitie rectangle die and a larger one for the mount out of red card.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card with a first mount out of red card, the papers are from Sweetshoppe digi papers and I have used three of them on this card and layered them up as shown in the photo. I then printed a sentiment on my computer and printed it and layered this also onto a piece of the same red card. To finish of I have used three red pearls in the top right hand corner.
I should say that my friend was in her 80s when she herself got on the back of her grandsons motorbike and rode it around the TT course on the Isle of Man where her daughter lives. She really was a spunky lady and I miss her so much.
Now that youve seen my Card I do hope that you will pop over to the Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you to will take part in this November Challenge.

A Card for ArtbyMiran Progressive Challenge

Good Morning Crafters sorry I havent posted since the beginning of the month, this poor blog gets forgotten as I do run my No.1 blog more or less upto date though even that isnt as busy as it used to be, maybe Im getting to old for this but will keep updating as and when I can.
This months progressive Challenge is using this little lady from ArtbyMiran and I printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her. Afterwards I cut her out using a rectangle die from Nestabilities and a Snowflake one for the mount.
The backing paper is also from ArtbyMiran and its called "Winter Frost, I have used two papers and the first one is a darker one than the second and this was cut into a square and then punched on all four sides with a Martha Stewart Border and Corner punch. I then layered them up as shown and a ribbon was bound around the card and attached to the back.
The mounted image was placed towards the left and the sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side, to finish of I have punched some snowflakes out and placed them down the right hand side of the card.

Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge - October

Good Morning Crafters, well where did September go can you believe its disappeared so quickly and we are inching so close to Xmas and New Year, although I love the colours of Autumn I must admit I hate really hate Winter and the dark nights, they depress me no end, but I suppose thats me and and perhaps you prefer Winter I just love light and not the dark.
Well can you believe it I had better stop before I depress you as well and this is a new Challenge over on Crazy Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge Blogspot and here is the card I created for it.

I adore Orchids and have quite a number of the Moth Orchid and at the moment I even have one in flower

Its a beautiful two tone pink flower, the white one next door is a bit sick unfortunately the plant got a bit over watered and it seems to caused it not to open completely which is a shame.
The card was creating using not only the Heartfelt Botanic Orchid papers, but also the dies and I stamped the flowers onto card, coloured them and then cut them out with the dies and shaped them with my embossing tool to create depth.
Even the border die down the left side is another Heartfelt Die and slipped behind the mounted image, I have also used a square doilies to to try and cover up the fact that I didnt quite have a big enough piece of paper for my first layer.
Now that youve seen my Card I do hope that you will pay a visit to the Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you to will want to take part in this Patterned Paper Challenge.

I won this gorgeous image from Conie Fong last week and I love it so I thought you might to.

I printed this image onto white card and then coloured it with my copic pens, afterwards I cut it out with my No.1 labels from Spellbinders and I used a fancy one for the mount.
The base card is 6.75"x 6.75" white card and the first mount out of blue card and the papers are from Nitwits "Bonnets and Bouties" and I have used four papers they are so pretty in pastel shades and layered up as shown in the photo.
I placed my mounted image in the top left hand corner and the sentiment in the bottom right. To finish of I have use two gem corners in the opposite corners to balance it up.

Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge

Good Morning Crafters, I cannot believe that we have already reached September and over on Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge its a new month and of course this means a new Challenge and for this one I have used the Altenew Stamps and this are fabulous to create your own designs which I hope you enjoy.

And I have used them to create not only the topper but also the layers of my card

The idea of the stamps is to layer up the images by using different coloured inkpads as you can see for my roses and leaves.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card and for the first mount I have used red card and then created a two further layers and before laying them up I have temporarily layered them up before stamping my roses over all three layers and again the leaves, and I have used three colours of red for the roses and two for the leaves. I then used a sentiment for the center. And before finally layered them up I have used two more red mounts to make them stand out and some mounting foam to give it depth.
I do hope that youve enjoyed my card and will pay a visit to the Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the talented design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you to will want to take part in this months Challenge.

Crazy Hazelnuts Pattern Paper Challenge - August

Good Morning Crafters, well over on Crazy Hazelnuts Pattern Paper Challenge we have of course now reached a brand new month which means a brand new Challenge, so I do hope you will join us.
And for my Card

I used some of the beautiful John Lockwood stamps

And find that Craftasmic has a fabulous choice and a competitive prices for this stamp set so do pay and visit and see the rest of the stamps that go with it.
And I have used the small stamp on the right to create my own background and then layered this onto a piece of blue card for the first stage. I then stamps the corner stamp onto another piece of white card and created with the scroll stamps the rest of the design as shown in the photo. I also stamped the single flowers on a separate piece of card and coloured them, afterwards I cut them out and moulded them and stuck them on top of the scrolled flower corner to give them form.
I then used the Cosmic Shimmer Pixie powders to colour it, afterwards I then layered his up onto another piece of the same blue card and then placed in the middle of my background.
Now that youve seen my Card I do hope that you will pay a visit to the Crazy Hazelnuts Pattern Paper Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you will want to take part in this August Challenge.

Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge - July

Good Morning Crafters I ball at the Idea of calling you Nutters are Hazels name, but here we are into the July can you believe we are now starting to go into the second half of the year, although I love the summer I really dont like going into the later half of the year but I suppose we just have to accept the inevitable so here is my card for July I hope you like it.

As you can no doubt tell I love to create my own background and my most favourite design of stamps are made by Justrite and this is a design I pinched from John Lockwood and I think it makes a really beautiful card. You will find you can get hold of this dies and stamps from several of the online shops but my own choice for good value is Craftsamic Craft Store in Taunton and I find their prices are really good, here are the stamps and dies I have used.

I created the background with the stamps in the middle set, then a topper with the top set, I also stamped out the single flower stamp three times and cut them out with the die from the bottom set.
As you can see its also backed with a dark blue card and dark blue ribbon which was wrapped around the topper in the middle.
I do hope you like my card and that you will now pay a visit to the Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you will want to take part in this months Patterned Paper Challenge.

A Card for the Facebook ArtbyMiran Challenge

Good Morning Crafters on a wet and chilly Friday Morning, well it looks as if we have had our Summer doesnt it, I have a Christening to go next weekend so Im keeping my fingers crossed that it will improve or its not going to be very pleasant sailing along the broads afterwards for the party. Anyway I thought my card today might cheer me and you up, its the latest Progressive Image from ArtbyMiran and I printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, afterwards I used my Sue Wilson dies to cut her out and a larger one for the mount out of pink card. The sentiment is also from the same design set as the papers.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card with a first mount out of pink card the papers are also from ArtbyMiran this set is called "Pink and Blue" and I have used several of the papers and the second and third layers I have used a Martha Steward border punch on them and layered them up as shown in the photo, I then wrapped a bright pink rib
bon around the card and attached it to the back of the first mount.
Then on top I layered the last of my layers and popped the image and a jaunty angle and the sentiment at the bottom on the left. I then decided to use the last two papers from the design set and a Daily Bread Daisy die and used three different sizes and layered them up as shown and a pearl was positioned in the center.

A Christmas Card for Facebooks Sunday with Santa Challenge

This weeks theme for Sundays with Santa was all about "Sports" and this was the card I created for it, its Tilda out with her Ski's ready to take to the piste. I stamped her onto white card then  used my copic pens to colour and I then used a square die to cut her out and used a fancy one for the mount out of blue card and before I actually stuck it to the mount I used my sakura glue pen and fine glitter to create the feel of snow. The sentiment was created in the same way as the Image and mounted on a smaller die from the same die set.
The base card is a 6.75"x 6.75" white card and the first mount out of blue card the paper is from the Phil Martins paper pack and I have used a piece of the same blue card and a Martha Stewart border punch to create the layer across the card.
I then placed my mounted image in the top left hand corner and the sentiment was placed in the bottom right hand corner.
To finish of I have used some glitter drop along the punched piece of card.

Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenges

Good Morning Crafters well we have reached another new month and of course over on Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge Blogspot we want to see your cards with Patterned Paper backing papers please and here is the card I created for this months Challenge, hope you like the result Im quite please with it.

This image is a stamp which has been stamped onto a piece of white card and then cut out with the dies that come with the vase and flowers. I then coloured the peonies with my copic pens, I had actually stamped this 6 times and the flower dies come with a main die and a section of the flower which you then decoupage up creating a fuller flower.
The base card is a 7" x 6" white card and this was then stamped with a smaller stamp from the same stamp and die set from Justrite stamps as you can see from the photos below. You will find these at
Craftasmic Craft Store

I then a red mount under each of the stamped out layers to give it more definition, the sentiment in the center of the vase is stamped with the vase itself so it fits exactly in the middle of it.
Now that youve seen my Card I do hope that you will pay a visit to the Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for this months Challenge.

A Card for the ArtbyMiran Facebook Challenge

Good Morning Crafters I know I dont post many posts these days I do find that I seem to have lots to do running my other blog but as I had already made this card for this months progressive Challenge over on Facebook I thought I would treat you to seeing it as well.
This image is the one they give you free if you have taken part in last months progressive Challenge and I printed her onto white card before colouring her with my copic pens. I then cut her out using the Justrite dies and used the larger one for the mount out of pink card. I always ink around the edges before removing the die to give it more body or it looks rather lost if you leave it all white. The sentiment was stamped and for this one I used for the smaller die a Sue Wilson Noble die and for the mount the circle die from Justrite.
I do love Justrite stamps and Dies also Sue Wilsons dies and stamps Im a bit of a horder of both so dont be surprised it you dont get to see me use them more.
The base card is a 7"x 7" white card with a first mount out of pink card the papers I used this time are also from ArtbyMiran and these are called "Happy Days" I printed three papers, the first is a pink background with hearts on, the second is a blue one and this one I have used border and corner dies from Martha stewart, the third is pink background with white spots and this was cut into a strip and mounted on a piece of pink card, then layered up as shown in the photo. I also used a heart doily which I tucked behind the mounted image.
I then placed my mounted image in the center with the sentiment in the bottom right hand corner. I have a confession to make I accidently bent the side of the heart doily when I turned it over to stick to the black base card and to try and anchor it down I used a bit of glue, unfortunately it looked so dark against the white I had to cover it up and I used a pink and blue organza ribbon to create the two bows and then placed a bow around the knot with the glitter drops from Tonic, I also used them in three of the corners. At least it covered up the black gluey mark.

A Card for the Sugar Nellie Challenge

Good Afternoon, Crafters, its been quite awhile since I have used any of my Sugar Nellie images and I had this one in my craft box I take to Craft Club so I decided to try and colour it with my coloured pencils and this is the result.
I cut her out with a Nestabilie Die and a larger on for the Mount, the sentiment is one from my stash and has been stamped onto a piece of card and mounted in the same way as the image.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card with a first mount out of mauve card, and the papers I have used are from the Nitwits and I have used several of the papers as shown in the photo I mounted some of the pieces onto card and with one of them I created a doily and layered that first then the rest on top.
The mounted image was place in the middle with the sentiment at the bottom right hand corner, I also used some mauve pearls in all three corners shown.

Anyway here is my card for this months Challenge over on Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge Blogspot

And for this card I have used one of the ArtbyMiran images and I printed her onto white card and then coloured with my copic pens, afterwards I used my Nestabilitie Die to cut it out and mounted it onto blue card. The sentiment was stamped and finished in the same way as the image.

A Card for ArtbyMiran Facebook Challenge

I promised last night to write up a post describing what I have done with this image and card design. The image is from ArtbyMiran, and the papers are to. If you take part in the Reserved Challenge every month you are given a free image for the following month once the present challenge is finished but you must take part in it to win it.
I printed this image onto white card and coloured it with not only copic pens but also my Tonic Nuvo pens (Id taken the image to craft club and as I have far to many copics to take I used the Tonic ones instead) they have not got the about of shades as the copics to but theyve made a decent job of it. I then cut it out with my Nestabilitie die and used a fancy one for the mount, Ive also done the same with the sentiment. (I should have said I glittered the wings and the butterfly)
The base card is a 7"x 7" white card with a first mount out of blue card, the papers are also from ArtbyMiran and this set are the Oriental ones, I have used three of the papers and layered them up as show, the second and third ones I have used the butterfly border and corner punches on them.
I then placed my mounted image in the center and the sentiment in the bottom right hand corner.

Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge - April

Good Morning Crafters, well I hope you all enjoyed your Easter Holidays, ours was very quiet and although hubby did his volunteer job with the local steam railway on Saturday we spend the rest of them weekend taking the dog for a walk and taking it easy.
Anyway over on Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge its April the 1st you know All Fools Day and I hope you wont find my card in that category as this week I had a funeral to go to yesterday for a dear friend who lost her battle with lung cancer and this was the card I sent her family with my sympathies.

Its from the Heartfelt Surprise Lily collection, I have used two stamps and coloured the flower down the left side with my copic pens.
I layered it up on a similar colour paper from the collection and mounted my image on top. I do hope you like the result and if you do I hope that you will pay a visit to Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you to will want to take part in this "April" Challenge.
