A Card for Aisne

Good Morning Everyone, I suspect you are all getting ready to celebrate bringing in the New Year, we will probably watch TV and then listen to the town setting of fireworks, it goes on for quite a bit in this neck of the woods, anyway I want to wish you all a Very Happy New Year tomorrow in case I dont get to post another card till well into next week, I have several DT cards to schedule today so might not be able to make any more till then.
Anyway I was approached yesterday by a lovely lady Aisne Smith of "Card Making Downloads" and she asked if I would see how I got on with her digi stamps, she has a very successful company that sells papers and coloured images but shes anxious to make a break into digi stamps, and as we all know thats quite a competitive market, but I like her designs so I want to wish her good luck and I hope you do to and we shall have to keep a keen eye on them in the future.
I have used this gorgeous "Kitten Girl" not sure of her actual name as she is only in her provisional stage and not actually available yet, but I think its probably what shes supposed to be with those ears, feet and hands. Ive printed her onto white card then coloured her with my copic pens, afterwards I used the oval Nestabilitie Die to cut her out and the Beaded Oval for the mount.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of lilac pearlescent card with one of three papers from the "Kay Miller" Digi Downloads, a very pretty pink, lilac in various shades, on top is a striped paper, and for my third is a very pretty patterned paper in similar colours but with hearts, dots and flowers on.
I then positioned my image towards the left, and with two other papers from the same digi set, I have used one of the Die-namics rolled flower dies to create three flowers, and stuck them to the card with silicone glue on top of some punched out fern leaves.
I do hope that you will make a visit to Aisne's shop and see for yourself what beautiful and stunning things she has to offer, and also go and visit her blog http://aisne-creations.blogspot.com/ she has some fabulous free downloads on there to also these images are available here on her blogspot http://aisne-creations-cardmaking.blogspot.com/ .

A Card for the Sugar Bowl Challenge - "A Sketch"

Good Morning Everyone, I sincerely hope you had a brilliant Christmas, ours was very quite just hubby, me and Missy she had a rare old time opening her Xmas present as youve probably already discovered in the link below. I had a lovely pair of earings from hubby and then he had to put them in as they were the most difficult pair I have ever had and I just couldnt do it myself, I have rather fat lobes, anyway they are in and in they will stay. I also had a lovely terry bathrobe from my daughter and a gorgeous notebook and earings from another of my lovely friends, plus all the gorgeous crafting goodies that arrived from friends with the Christmas cards, thanks girls they were lovely.
Anyway back to todays card it has been made using one of the little Adorables digi images from Funky Kits, isnt he gorgeous Ive printed him onto white card then used my copic and tria pens to colour him, then used the oval Nestabilitie die to cut him out and then used a beaded one for the mount.
Because the challenge asked for home made papers I actually used two pearlescent cards the blue and white and ran them both through my Cuttlebug and Grand Calibur machines with embossing folders to create them both. I also used a piece of seam binding for the ribbon which was attached to the back of the first mount, and the sentiment was one from my stash.

We had a lovely dinner and the dog did to she ate more that Ive seen her do in days, and you can guess afterwards that she spend most of the afternoon flat out asleep.
I just thought you might like to visit this clip on UTube to see what the little madam did with her Christmas present.

Happy Christmas everyone

Just want to wish you all a Very Happy Christmas.....

I have a list of people
All written in a book -
And every year at Christmas time
I go and take a look.
And that is when I realise
That those names are all a part -
Not of the book they're written in
But of my very heart.
For each name stands for someone
Who has crossed my path some time -
And in that meeting they've become
A treasured friend of mine.
And once you've met some people
The years can not erase -
The memory of a pleasant word
Or of a friendly face.
So when I send an email
That is addressed to you -
It's because you're on that 'Special List'
Of folk I am indebted to.
And you are one of several folk
In times past that I've met -
And happen to be one of those
I don't want ever to forget.
And whether I have known you
For many years or few -
In some way you have had a part
In shaping things I do.
So this the Spirit of Christmas
That forever still endures
May it leave its richest blessing
In the hearts of you and yours.

Missy after her Grooming.

Well Missy had her haircut today and the poor Groomer had quite a job to get her muzzle sorted out, but I think on the whole shes dont a good job (her face is a bit wet, I think she must have had a drink just before the photo was taken). Mind you when Missy got home she was absolutely shattered and after standing for 2 hours while she was sorted Im not surprised.

Guess who opened her Xmas Present Early?

Our dog went investigating today and found her Xmas pressie under our tree, and youve guessed it she pulled it of the unit and opened it up, hubby went down and found her playing with it so I guess we will have to let her have it.
You might also have a closer look at her whiskers, hubby went chopping them of this morning before I had a chance to stop him, shes got sticky stuff all in them and we couldnt get it out, I wouldnt have minded so much if hadnt been that shes of to the groomers tomorrow to have a proper clip and shampoo. I just hope they are able to rescue her looks because at the moment shes a bit of a mess, the only good thing is that it will soon grown again.

A Card for Teddybo Challenge "Birthstones"

Good Afternoon Everyone, well it snowed again last night and I was forced to walk into town this morning to pick up an envelope that hadnt got the right postage on, why they carnt bring them to the door in this sort of weather I dont know as Im more than happy to pay for it. Anyway I managed it without a mishap but the poor dog hasnt been out for a walk yet and Im hoping that the sun which is out at the moment will clear a lot of it up as we had a freeze during the night and its like a skating rink and it scares me like hell to walk on it.
Heres a photo I took last night not brilliant but it gives you an idea what we are experiencing at the moment.
And that footpath upto the front gate is extremely icy today so you can understand why Im scared, my dog loves it. Anyway getting back to my card its for the TeddyBo "Birthstones" Challenge and as Im a November baby its Topaz for me, not particularly a nice colour but Ive done my best with this little skating Bea, and used Nestabilitie Labels Die No.17 on it to cut it out, and the papers Ive used are Bearlymine Digi Christmas Sets, Ive then wrapped a piece of lace and ribbon around the card and attached it to the back of the first mount, then stuck my mounted image in the middle with the sentiment at the bottom on the right.
To finish of Ive used one hellibore and two poinsettas in a flower spray that has been stuck to the card with silicone glue on top of some punched out holly leaves.

A Card for the Just Magnolia's "White and 1 Colour"

Good Morning Ladies, well weve had our fall of snow last night and guess what our pup Missy absolutely adores it, though she was a bit suspicious when she first went out this morning but once she saw if was fun she was of racing around the garden like a loonie. Anyway back todays card its been created for the Just Magnolia Challenge and Ive used this sweet image of Tilda and coloured her very plainfully and then used Nestabilitie Die Labels No.2 to cut it out and used a green inkpad around the edge, the mount was then created using the same die again and drawing around it and cutting out afterwards.
The main card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of green card and one paper from Donna of Bearlymine Designs "Christmas Wishes" digi paper set, on top is a square of white pearlescent card and Ive used a holly border and corner punch on it. Then around the bottom is a sentiment ribbon and attached to the back of the first mount. The mounted image was then positioned in the centre.

A Card for Mo's Challenge "Banners or Tags"

Good Morning Everyone, you now how it is you think youve covered everyone then you find a card turns up and youve no idea who the person is, but with a little detective work from hubby he managed to see that the postmark on the envelope and discovered it was from Norwich, and as my grandson lives in Norwich we guess it was from his future in-laws, so mystery solved, and one rushed person trying to get another Xmas card done and finished this morning ready for hubby to post in the morning.
Ive created my card from this sweet image from Mo Manning, Ive coloured her with my copic's then used Nestabilitie Die No.11 to cut her out, then done my usual thing with the mount. The sentiment is one of Pink Gems ones and Ive treated that in the same way.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of dark blue card and one paper from Donna of Bearlymine Designs "Christmas Wishes" digi paper set, a dark blue with lots of sentiments and snowflakes on. The next mount was a 5" square that Ive used my snowflake border and corner punch on from Martha Stewart. Ive created the banner with some letters I created in MCS and printed them of, then used a Whimsey banner stamp and punch to create the sections for my banner, these were then stuck to the card on a strip of white ribbon and foam.
The mounted image was postioned on the right with the sentiment at the bottom on the left, the final thing I did was put some glitter on the letters and used the punched out snowflakes to just dot and spot all over the place stuck down with some glue.

A Card for myself

Good Afternoon Everyone, oh well it started as a card for the Sugar Bowl Challenge and unfortunately I forgot to stick to the Sketch so I thought I might as well post it as a card just for myself. Ive used this sweet image from Sugar Nellie and coloured it with my copic pens, then used the Rectangle Die from Spellbinders and cut the mount from blue card, the sentiment is one from my stash.
The base card as always is a 6"x 6" white card with a paper from the Maya "In the Country" paper pack and across the middle is a green ribbon that Ive attached to the back of the first mount, behind this is a second paper from the same paper pack a green one that I have run through my cuttlebug with a Cherry Lynn Doily.
The mounted image was then positioned to the left and the sentiment at the bottom on the right, to finish of I have created a large bow thats had a brad and spacer and stuck on top of the green ribbon.

Card for the Joanna Sheen "Christmas Wishes" Challenge

Good Afternoon Everyone, Im so sorry for it being so long since I posted a card here its because I have been so busy getting a blog hop organised and launched, by the way it started today over on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot I do hope that you will pop across to my other Blog to see what Ive been upto.
Anyway back today card it has been created for the new Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog, and Ive been an avid collector of all Joanna Sheen things and thought I ought to make the effort to take part, so for a change I have used the House Mouse Christmas Decoupage for my card (by the way its only £4.50 over on the JS website) and have mounted the image onto some bright red card I got from Hunkydory.
The base card is a 8"x 8" card for a change and Ive used the papers from the Thomas Kinkade Christmas CD for the backing papers on this card, its a red one with lots of snowmen on it. On top is a 5" square of white pearlescent card that I put through my Grand Calibur with a mica mask and unfortunately as the card was so thick its not showing to well.
Anyway I layered up these tow then wrapped a Xmas ribbon around the centre and attached it to the back of the first mount of red card by the way, then around the edges I have used several Memory Box and Cherry Lynn die cuts and positioned my main image in the centre.
I then created a sentiment on my computer, I hope you like its pun, and created a flower spray in the top left hand corner using three poinsettas, holly berries, and two fir cones, these were all attached to the card with some silicone glue on top of some punched out holly leaves,

A Card for Saturated Canary "Anything Goes" Challenge

Good Afternoon Everyone, the sun is out and Ive just sent hubby out to sweep up all the leaves that have tumbled from the trees in all that wind last night, hes not happy but it does need doing as weve got the green wheelie bin men due tomorrow. Before I show you my card for Saturated Canary I want to share with you a couple of photos of my hubbys new Grandson who arrived last Sunday evening, his name is Jacen and he weighted in at 8lbs 10ozs a real whopper, of course hubby is as proud as punch and carnt wait to go to visit and see him but unfortunately weve got a lot on over the next couple of weekends that its going to have to wait until 18th which will mean that he will probably have grown a bit, but never mind.

On the top is Ian's daughter Sammie with young Jacen and below hes with his dad Matt, they already have a 2 year old daugher Seraphie and Im sure shes thrilled with her new baby brother.
Anyway back todays card here it is:-
Ive used one of the new Sassy Girls stamps and coloured her with my copics and tria pens, afterwards Ive used the Nestabilitie Labels No.1 die to cut it out then used the die to create the mount for it, the sentiment is one I got free from one of the craft magazines and has been mounted on the same pink card I used for the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of pink card and for my papers Ive used the Nitwits "Hey Cupcake" digi downloads, this first paper is a pretty pink background with several different coloured flowers on it, the second is a strip thats been mounted down the card and on this is a blue background with red, green and yellow hearts on it, for the third paper Ive used a pink and white stripe one and this has been stuck across the card and a blue grosgrain ribbon has been wrapped down and around the card and then stuck to the back of the first mount.
Ive then stuck my mounted image to the left of my card and the sentiment at the bottom on the right, to finish Ive used two of the left over bits of paper to create a rolled flower and this was then stuck to the card at the top on the right with some silicone glue on top of some punched out leaves.

The sentiment is one of the Pink Gem stamps and this has been cut and mounted with a circle die.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of blue card and then Ive used two papers from the First Edition "Christmas Joy" paper pad, the first paper is blue background with baubles on it, the second paper is a red background with a sentiment on, Ive also used a bauble embossing folder on the third mount.
The mounted image was then positioned in the middle with the sentiment at the bottom on the right. To finish of Ive cut a bauble out with the Martha Stewart punch and then used some glue and glitter on it, and positioned it at the top on the left with a small bow on the top.

Good Afternoon All, its dark again early and Im already fed up with these long evenings, Im sure its not supposed to get dark by 4pm but who am I to say. Anyway todays card has been created for the Saturated Canary "Autumn Colours" Challenge, and I was lucky enough to receive my new Sassy Girls stamps this morning from Funky Kits, and I chose this young lady for my topper, isnt she gorgeous, anyway I stamped her onto white card then used my copics to create a rainbow on her dress, and then cut her out with the large Rectangle Nestabilitie Die and used a Deckle edged one for the mount, the sentiment is one from my stash and Ive mounted it in the same way as my image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of dark yellow pearlescent card and Ive then used three papers from the K & Company "Classic K Bailey" Paper pack, this first paper is in shades of brown with a rose pattern on, the second I cut in a strip and this is beige/yellow paper and I used my Martha Stewart leaf border punch down the edge, on top I have placed my third paper a red and orange flower pattern which has been mounted on some more of the yellow card.

Im not sure if the cards not straight or Ive not put the topper on straight, anyway hope you still like the end result, it might just be my camera angle, lets hope its that. Anyway todays card has been created for the Lili of the Valleys "A Card for Someone Special" and Ive still got a few to make for family members so I think this card will fall into that catagory, Ive used this sweet little people singing with the dog howling, and coloured it with my copic and tria pens, then cut it out with my rotatrim, the mount has been cut out with the Fleur de Lis Rectangle from Spellbinders, Ive then mounted them up, the Sentiment is one that I got free from Polka Doodles and felt it was a lovely one to go with the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of red card and one of the Memory Box "Mistletoe" paper set, a very pretty white/cream background with holly leaves and berries on, Ive only used the one paper and on top I have laid two stripes of die cut that I created with the Cherry Lynn Holly Lace die, and then mounted  my image to the right and the sentiment at the bottom on the left. To finish of Ive stuck some pearls in random places to look like holly berries.

Guess what Ive been published

A we while ago I was emailed by Ruth Southorn of Papercraft Inspiration a craft magazine, as I hadnt actually sent anything in to be published I was a little worried that I was being scammed, anyway I replied to her and she said that shed seen one of my cards on my blog and would dearly like to publish it in a future issue of the magazine, all I had to do was submit a 200dpi photo for her to use.
Anyway today when I received my magazine guess what on page 88 there is was in all its glory, to say Im chuffed is putting it lightly, and theyve even published my blogspot address, so you never know I might have a few more followers in the future. Heres a small photo of the whole page, and I will also put the card below so you can see it completely.

I hope you like what you see, I did make sure they put Mo's name by the image.

Well todays card has been created for this weeks Just Magnolia's "Christmas is Coming" Challenge, and I have used this sweet image of Tilda and I have coloured her with my copic pens, then cut it out with my rotatrim, I then cut a mount out of blue card and mounted it onto it. The sentiment is one from a freebie set of stamps I received with one of my craft magazines this week, this was also mounted on the same blue card.
