A Card for the Sugar Bowl and Sugary Sunday Challenges

Good Morning Everyone, well its sunny here but still extremely cold, when is Spring going to come? Im really fed up with this bone chilling cold, we are of swimming later on today I just hope the water is warm or I wont be staying there long.
Anyway for this weeks Challenge over on Sugary Sunday's Facebook Challenge they want to see "Spots and Stripes" and the Sugar Bowls one is a "Anything Goes" so Im hoping that my card covers both of these ok. The image is from Funky Kits and its a fabulous image for a young lad, Ive stamped him onto white card then used my copic pens to colour him, afterwards cut him out with my rotatrim and did the same with the red mount.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of red card the papers I have used are from Donna's Bearlymine Designs "Simply Dots" and one from a Christmas Set for the stripes. Ive layered it as shown above and the sentiment is one from my stash which has also been stamped onto a piece of white card then mounted onto a piece of red card to.

More Sample Cards for Sarah Hallam

and here is the Mask
This was created using Pans Pastels

And this was done with ink pads through the mask, the topper is from Sarahs "Flower Elegance" Cd.

This one was created with embossing powder and the images are from Sarahs "Woodland Fantasy" CD. Ive also used Cheery Lynn corner dies and a Marianne Butterfly die cut.

This was created with ink pads, and alcohol inks on the foil then cut out and stuck in the squares created from the mask that was put through a embossing machine. The image is a Paper Shelter digi image, and mounted on a Cheery Lynn Die Cut mount.
I hope you will be watching Sarahs preview programs tomorrow on Create and Craft at 8am and 1pm Wednesday 27th March.

Mask Medley from Sarah Hallam of Peerless Designs

Ive been meaning to show you Sarah Hallam's new "Masks" and have been putting the cards I created on hold to be shown nearer the launch date, and this week they will be reviewed on Create and Craft for the very first time, if you would like to get ahead of the game you will find them on Sarah's Website and here is the link Peerless Designs and you will find lots of choose from. And now for two of my sample cards I created for Sarah.

Using this Mask

And here is my Second Sample

Using this Stencil

For the first card I used Mica Sprays from Tattered Angels, and then used some Diecuts for the embellishments. For the second one I used Pans Pastels and then used a spray to bind them to stop them from smudging.
I do hope you will be watching the launch of Sarahs new products as they will be previewed on Create and Craft at Wednesday 27th March at 8am and 1pm. I know the rest of the Design Team have created some stunning samples with the rest of the masks and I will show you some more of mine tomorrow.

Another Card from my Copic Retreat

Good Evening Crafters, I hope your not suffering to much for the snow, we had some over night and its still extremely cold outside. As I told you at the beginning of the week I spent last weekend in Oxford at a Copic Retreat, and this card is another that we created using Airbrushing. The base card has been created by using a heart stencil and using one of my copic pens and airbrushing machine to spray over the heart mask.
I have layered it up and then coloured a teddy bear image with a dot and dash method to give it texture (another method of using a copic pen) I then cut it out and placed towards the left of the heart. I also used the airbrush on the piece of lace down the left side, unfortunately the air ran out so its not completely coloured but I dont think it harmed its effect to much.

My Copic Retreat Weekend

Good Morning Crafters, well you might wonder what the title of this post means, well Ive been away for the weekend on a Copic Retreat, wow what a fabulous time I had and I have Wendy of Stamps and Memories and the girls who attended to thank for that, they really made me feel part of a lovely group and the hotel in Didcot was fabulous though we did have a few hiccups but we wont dwell on those for now.
The idea of the retreat was to learn many ways of using our copic pens other than just colouring with them, air brushing, tip to tip, hair, skin, blending with pencils and several other methods of using them to their full potential and it was fun as well.
This card was created with the tip to tip method which is using a light colour and holding the darker one at the tip and then using the blended colours to do the flowers, I do hope you like the effect it gives.
I dont know whos papers these are but they do go so well with the colours Ive used on the image, which is one of the stampedous ones.

A Card for the Sugar Bowl and Sugary Sunday Challenges

Good Morning, brrrr its cold outside even though the sun is out its still cold, anyway Im of and away this weekend for a Copic Colouring Retreat in Oxford and Im really excited but I do have to pack up all my pens and goodies ready to take with me tomorrow so I think Im going to busy with that. Anyway my great grandson is doing well and my grandson and his wife are really thrilled with him, thank you so much for all the lovely comments and good wishes Im sure if he reads my blog he will see for himself.
This weeks card is yet again one of the new Funky Kits "Shopping for Fashion" stamps isnt she gorgeous and Im quite pleased with her hair colour though Im not sure it would suit me, but I suppose if Id been born with it I probably would have thought otherwise. Anyway Ive stamped her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, afterwards I used one of the rectangle Nestabilitie dies to cut her out and one of the new dies for the mount and the sentiment one. The sentiment is a stamp from my stash and because of lack of space Ive had to lay it on its side.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of turquoise card and the papers I have used are from Sweetshoppes "Bring on the Spring" paper set, the first a lovely all over flower pattern, then I have used a plain colour and one of the tonic circle punches for the doily then for the other two mounts are a check one behind the image and a orange one across the bottom.
Ive not added any embellishments as I think as its rather crowded they would make it worse and of course Im trying to watch my postage as my hubbys the one to gets to pay for it, and some of the cards Ive send are extremely expensive.

A Card for Sugary Sunday and Sugar Bowl Challenges

Good Afternoon, Ive been meaning to post this card for a couple of days, but with waiting for my great grandson to make his appearance which was at 3am this morning, I have been helping a neighbour though a difficult time, her hubby died a couple of weeks ago and the funeral was on Thursday I seem to have had a busy time so I do hope you will forgive me for being so lapse at in posting it.
This card was created from one of the new stamps from Funky Kits, its all to do with shopping, and I have stamped her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, afterwards I used my oblong die to cut her out, and one of the new Spellbinder dies for the mount, but before taking it out of the die I ran it through my embosser with a embossing folder to create the pattern behind her.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of blue card, the papers I have used this time are from Sweethshoppe's Digi Papers and this set is called "Both Sides of Her" and the first paper is a white background with multi coloured flowers on it, on top is a second all over turquoise colour that I have cut into a 5" square and I have used a border and corner punch on it to create a square. On top of this I have laid yet another piece of the same blue card that was used for the mount and cut a 3" square and ran this also through a embossing folder, and laid it on top of the second layer.
The mounted image was then placed towards the left with the sentiment on the right, but because of lack of room I have laid it on its side.

Jacob has arrived

My first great grandchild made a really noisy arrival this morning at 3am, my grandson rang me at 3.15 and he was howling in the background and Im not surprised as it was snowing in Norwich at the time, he was probably a hell of lot warmer where he'd been.
Anyway my grandson and his wife have decided to call him Jacob Stephen Martin, the later two are after the two grandfathers and as my grandson also has Stephen in his name hes passing on the family tradition. Im so glad that he made it back from Afghanistan in time for this special event and he sounded so happy on the phone.
I want to wish my granddaughter, grandson, great grandson and my eldest daugher a very Happy Future to you all, and to thank you all for giving me this very special present for Mothers Day. Oh and by the way he weighted in at 7lbs.15ozs a real whopper, he looks well filled out so will probably be a good feeder, I hope my grandson has a good wallet to keep up with him.

A Card for Sundays with Santa Facebook Challenge

Good Morning Crafters, again I must apologise for not posting any posts on here for a week, but its been a busy week yet again and I was hoping to announce the birth of my first great grandchild but my poor granddaughter in law is still holding on, though the midwife said yesterday that she is now 2cm dilated and it should be here in the next couple of days and if not shes booked in for an induction on Saturday at 2pm so I do hope she has it before then, but I will keep you informed.
Todays card was for this weeks "Never seen Ink" and I have actually used two stamps that I have never used before and the first one I used was the background one which is all over sentiment stamp, and then I wrapped a brown ribbon around the bottom and stuck to the back of the first mount which is brown, the image was stamped onto yet another piece of white card then cut out with my rotatrim and this was then mounted on yet another piece of brown card, this was then placed in the middle towards the top.
To finish of I used some of the brown card to create the poinsetta's at the bottom and then with some yellow stickles in the middle and placed them on some punched out leaves (which are all Nellie punches) and stuck them to the bottom of the card on the left hand side.
