Its less than 12 hours to the New Year, and I want to wish you all good luck and a very happy New Year. We had a phone call at 9am this morning to say that its extremely hot in Christchurch New Zealand, and my brother in law was sitting outside enjoying a drink and getting ready to see the New Year in, they are 13 hours ahead of us, Ive no doubt hes now sleeping of the merryments but I do wish we had some of that beautiful weather they are experiencing there, its 26 degrees there lucky thing.
Anyway it wont belong before the crocuses and daffodils will hopefully be showing their heads and we can perhaps look forward to a lovely summer, but I wont hold my breathe for to long as we have a habit of getting more of the white stuff in January dont we, anyway Happy New Year to you all, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for your loyal support and lovely comments.

Oh No Snow Again
Anyone want to go out for a drive? As you can see the road around our estate is pretty slippery, and as we live in a cul-de-sac we dont have a lot of through traffic and the road doesnt get cleared that often. Oh well it looks as though we are in for a White Christmas after all.

My Second Eldest Grandson - Thomas
Im so proud of my second eldest grandson Thomas whos 17, as yesterday he passed his driving test at his first attempt now to many thats quite a uneventful thing to happen, but for my grandson it was a wonderful achievement as all his life from the time he was born it has been a struggle. The reason for this is he suffers with Aspergers Syndrome and as you may or may not know it affects their motor skills and their being able to achieve many other things like being able to talk, write and generally make friends, they dont understand what you are talking about and dont reason very well, and also have to have help with their Schooling. Thomas was lucky and was statemented quite early so he got the help he required and the one to one teaching at School, now hes at College doing a Computer Studies course, hes extremely good at maths, though not so good at english, but hes doing well and hopes eventually to go onto University and who knows he might just do that with his determination and his mums great faith in his ability and I think thats whats bought Thomas this far. Good luck my love and Well Done you are my Star Im so very proud of you and your mum.

A Heron comes a calling
This morning my hubby looked out of our bedroom window and was a bit surprised to see a Heron standing on the roof of the house opposite, it then flew down to the end house and landed on the fence, you might be wondering why, well our neighbours have a fish pond in their garden and I think this cheeky Heron was hoping to help himself to some of the goldfish they have in it, but Ive a feeling he left empty handed as most of the ponds around here are frozen up, so I suspect he may have had to fly back down to the River Wye for better pickings.

A Card for the Totally PaperCrafts Challenge
I finished this card today and it will be posted on my other blog tomorrow and I thought I would post it on this one so that I could see how it looked as its made in untraditional colours and I wasnt quite sure what it would look like.
I had a wonderful birthday yesterday and some fabulous wishes from my blogging friends it really gave me such a warm and loved feeling, I didnt realise just how many people would actually know it was my birthday but someone let the cat out of the bag. Thank you so much for a really wonderful day.

Hope that this will go down well as its a new step for me to just use two colours. Its been a busy day for me today, had a pile of ironing to start of with then we went swimming at lunch time, and this afternoon I went into the loft to try and find a few more bits and pieces to go up in our garage, we really need to clear out the loft as its rather full.

46 years old but never able to enjoy it
Today is another difficult day for me, its my sons 46th Birthday but he never got to see his first one so hes not going to celebrate this one either, he unfortunately died at just under 6 months from Acute Leukamenia and he was such a wonderful baby that lived a life time in just those few months. The top photo shows him at about 12 weeks old at my sisters first wedding reception, he is lying on my lap and my eldest daughter is standing in the front, with my brother on the right and my sister standing next to him with her new husband John.
The second photo is one taken at just 26 days old as is the bottom one but this one is with his sister Karen she wasnt quite 3 years old, they were taken by a friend to try and create a Xmas card for us to send out, the one we chose officially I will post below, and you will see that a baby not a month old was old beyond his age.
You must admit for such a young baby he was gorgeous and very forward, I feel such a lost today but we all have to learn to live without the ones we love.

A Change of Directions
I thought for a change I would post some photos of my gorgeous grandson Andy with his fiance Laura and his mum Karen my eldest daughter.
My beautiful grandson is in the RAF so Im not allowed to say to much about him so please forgive me for that, but he is engaged to a really gorgeous young lady Laura, they are due to get married in 2012 and I carnt wait for that to happen even if it means it shouldnt belong before he makes me a great grandma, anyway thats a little way of yet.
The bottom photo is of my gorgeous eldest daughter Karen, she lives in Scotland rather a long distance from me so I dont get to see her very often, but this photo was taken this year when Andy actually made a trip to visit her and introduce her to her future daughter-in-law.
I love these photos of them all and Im so proud of them to, so my love goes out to them, Im sure you will agree with me and I hope you like what you see.

Another Blue Challenge Card
Well this is another blue challenge card I know but thats part of the colour scheme for the challenge its titled Icy Blue and Silver, so I didnt have much choice. Again Ive used this gorgeous blue design from Donna's "Christmas Dreams" and I love it its so pretty especially having the hearts and scrolls up at the top it seems such a shame to cover it up. So this is a sneaky peek it will be posted on my No.l blog tomorrow as its scheduled for 9am.

My Card for tomorrows Mo Challenge - "Whats in your Pocket"
Heres a sneaky peek at tomorrow Challenge Card for Mos Challenge this week whats in your pocket, I love these images and this one especially of Kia, its meant to a little boy, but Mo has always said that its actually a little girl after one of her nieces, but Im rather happy this time for it to be a boy.
Ive used Donnas fabulous new Christmas Dreams papers for this one and I coloured the image with my copic pens.
Before I go I want to welcome Kym to my new blog and to say that its nice to have at least one follower though Im not sure I will broadcasting this blog at this moment, so anyone who finds it is welcome as much as to my old one.

Tomorrow its been a Year
Tomorrow the 9th November is going to be a year since I lost my Mum and I know its not going to be easy as I miss her so much, the photos I have here on this blog are of different times in her life, the first one is when she was in the Army and is about 19 years old she was a secretary to a Captain and was based in Wells. The second photo is of my Grandmother, her mother and my mum on the right and her sister Ina on the left, they are about 5 and 7 years old just before their parents split up and divorced. The last photo is of her not long before she died she was 87, my hubby Ian and I went to visit her at her nursing home in Hove in Sussex where she was very happy.
Unfortunately a year ago she had a fall and this caused a major artery in her stomach to bleed and it just didnt stop, poor mum was in a lot of pain at the best of times so Im wouldnt want to wish her back to suffer any more, and I do miss her so much, but Im sure shes now looking after me from above, she was very religious, and is happily reunited with my Dad who died at least 25years ago.
